University of Colorado - Boulder

CU Boulder was our first official stop, but we were already clocking in at 1,101 miles driven. We interviewed two rising Juniors studying strategic communications, and it turns out they had a connection to Clayton's family - one of the girls was childhood friends with Clayton's sister!

Beyond realizing what a small world we live in, we learned a lot from our first interview, and came away feeling excited for the conversations to come. Check out our first podcast below!

University of Missouri - Kansas City

At UMKC, we had the opportunity to interview two students from the Muslim Student Association, both studying medicine. The interviews provided a different perspective for us, but proved our suspicion: this generation wants to help people. Both students entered the medical field because of personal experiences that impacted them and made them want to help others as much as possible - something we are all striving for in our own way.

We also sat down with Sara, a UMKC graduate school alumna, who emphasized the importance of being open, flexible, and willing to continuously learn in order to excel in your career. Sara's story was nothing short of inspiring and she exuded positive energy that left us all smiling.

Ohio State University

After a very long day of driving, with a stop in Champaigne, Illinois and a night at the Radisson (kidding), we stepped into the energy of the Ohio State University. We met with two students in their third year of a program that combines business and engineering to provide students with a cross between both skillsets, leaving them highly qualified for a wide variety of jobs, including consulting.

Juan and Rob brought excitement, ambition, and comedy to the table of their newly-furnished and very college apartment unit. We covered a wide breadth of topics, from time management and work-life balance to mentorship and leading industries by geography. We're excited to see what Rob and Juan end up doing!

University of Pittsburgh

Another beautiful campus, another invigorating conversation. We met with Teresa outside of the stunning chapel on campus and sat in the grass while we watched a game of ultimate frisbee and a crew setting up for the back-to-school bonfire. Teresa is studying supply chain operations with a minor in engineering, with a real passion for environmental sustainability in business and corporate social responsibility. Similar to Juan and Rob, her business-engineering cross-training has provided her with a practical perspective on the problems of the world and how you can use business to solve them.

She spoke eloquently and confidently about a number of topics, leaving us all inspired.

Penn State University

Being our third campus of the day, you would think we would have arrived at Penn State exhausted. But there was something about the energy on campus that made us feel more alive, and it may have had something to do with our interview with Megan. Megan transferred to Penn State last year and changed her major from hospitality to economics.

As the sun set over Old Main Lawn, we sat down with Megan at the duck pond for an interesting discussion about the balance of being comfortable and being uncomfortable while pushing yourself in your studies and your career.

University of North Carolina  - Charlotte

After a refreshing night in Philadelphia and meeting up with an old friend, we headed down the coast toward the Carolina's. Just a few minutes after stepping onto the UNCC campus, we discovered that we were catching the tail end of a business leadership conference in which freshmen business students receive upperclassmen mentors and learn about what to expect from a career in the world of business.

We were able to sit down with six brand new freshmen just after the conference closed, and they carried their energy into the conversation, bouncing ideas off of each other and discussing their perceptions of the business world and their career ideals. The conversation was raw and refreshing and we can't wait to share it with you!

After a long summer of adventures and all things new, we stepped back into the familiarity of Clayton and Taylor's home town to speak with Keyshawn. Keyshawn is a public health major but he's also a performer, and it was fascinating to see how he had found the balance between pursuing his passion for performance and the practicality of public health studies in order to serve others.

After the interview, we hit the farmer's market for some much needed cold brew and headed back to Columbia.

Sweet home Carolina. We made it. The end of a journey is always bittersweet, but in our case it was more sweet than bitter. We capped off our road trip by interviewing Omar, an International Business student from Tunisia. Omar is one of the most enthusiastic people we've ever met, and his energy wiped away any exhaustion we felt from the week on the road.

He also left us feeling hopeful about the future workforce, about our generation's potential to impact the world we live in. We can't wait to see what Omar, and everyone else we interviewed, does for the world.
